Liwan wins Belaga to secure second seat for GPS

KUCHING, Dec 18: Datuk Liwan Lagang has won the N65 Belaga seat with a majority of 2,245 votes to secure a second seat for Gabungan Parti Sarawak (GPS).

According to the Election Commission (EC) official results, Liwan garnered 3,552 votes to beat Parti Sarawak Bersatu’s (PSB) Henry Usat Bit (1,307 votes).

Two other contenders from Parti Bumi Kenyalang (PBK) John Bampa and independent Siki Balarik obtained a mere 97 and 81 votes respectively. Both of them lost their election deposit. — DayakDaily
