LIMBANG, July 14: The issue of schools frequently flooding in Limbang will be submitted to the Ministry of Education (MOE) for further action, says Deputy Minister of Transport Datuk Hasbi Habibollah.
According to a report by TVS, he said it needed to be addressed because it can affect the students’ learning process.
Hasbi, who is also Limbang Member of Parliament (MP), said that among the schools identified were Sekolah Kebangsaan (SK) Ukong, SK Telahak, and SK Lubuk Tekuruk.
“I will follow up on this matter; an application has already been made to the MOE for schools that are frequently flooded, such as SK Ukong, SK Lubuk Tekuruk, and SK Telahak.
“Weather changes cause the frequent flooding problem, and it leads to damage to the school’s infrastructure,” he said when speaking at a leaders with the community programme at Dewan Bunga Raya here yesterday (July 14).
Hasbi mentioned that the issue of flooded schools in Limbang is not new and has been brought up before, requesting the Education Department to resolve the matter.
He also suggested that MOE establish clustered schools, which have been discussed before so that schools facing floods can be grouped according to the area. — DayakDaily
