KUCHING, Aug 6: Land Custody and Development Authority (LCDA) has once again proven its dedication to making a positive impact on society and the environment, earning the ‘GLC of the Year—Community at Heart’ award in the government-linked companies (GLC) category at ‘Sustainability and CSR Malaysia Awards 2023’.
According to an LCDA press release, the event, held in Kuala Lumpur, celebrates outstanding corporate social responsibility (CSR) efforts and recognises companies that are driving meaningful change in their communities.
“LCDA’s commitment to promoting community well-being, social impact, and environmental sustainability through its ‘LCDA Prihatin’ CSR programme caught the attention of the award’s panel judges.
“This recognition highlights LCDA’s unwavering dedication to fostering social change and aligns perfectly with Sarawak’s Post-Covid-19 Development Strategies (PCDS) 2030, focusing on economic prosperity, social inclusivity, and environmental sustainability,” LCDA said.
It added that the ‘LCDA Prihatin’ initiative, encompassing health, education, and welfare activities, has been a game-changer for the communities in Sarawak, especially during the challenging Covid-19 pandemic.
“We are deeply honoured to receive the ‘GLC of the Year—Community at Heart’ award at the ‘Sustainability and CSR Malaysia Awards 2023’,” said LCDA Corporate Affairs Division senior manager Saiful Bahari Amra Ramly.
“This recognition serves as a testament to our tireless and continuous efforts in promoting sustainable development and giving back to the communities we serve.
“We believe that thriving communities are the backbone of a progressive nation, and we are fully committed to promoting positive change,” Saiful added.
The awards ceremony was graced by Minister of Women, Family and Community Development Dato Sri Nancy Shukri.
‘Sustainability and CSR Malaysia Awards 2023’, organised by CSR Malaysia and endorsed by the Corporate Sustainability and Responsibility Malaysia Welfare Society, brings together corporations committed to making a meaningful impact on the society and environment they operate in. The event provides a platform to showcase exemplary CSR initiatives and fosters a culture of responsible business practices.
This accolade marks LCDA’s second recognition for its exceptional environmental, social, and governance (ESG) practices. The company was previously honoured with the ‘Energy Efficiency Building Award’ at the ‘ASEAN Energy Awards 2020’. — DayakDaily
