KUCHING, April 11: The Land Custody and Development Authority (LCDA) has presented business zakat (tithes) totalling RM2,105,307 to Tabung Baitulmal Sarawak (TBS) during the Darul Hana Iftar Ceremony 2023 at Borneo Convention Centre Kuching (BCCK) here earlier tonight.
Premier of Sarawak Datuk Patinggi Tan Sri Abang Johari Tun Openg was present to witness the handing over of the tithes between LCDA general manager Datu Monaliza Zaidel and TBS general manager Datu Abang Mohd Shibli Abang Mohd Nailie.
The event which was organised by LCDA also saw Abang Johari and wife Puan Sri Datuk Amar Juma’ani Tuanku Bujang presenting Hari Raya Aidilfitri contribution amounting to RM10,100 to 101 recipients, whom are orphans and individuals with disabilities from 13 villages within Darul Hana project area.
The event was part of LCDA’s annual corporate social responsibility (CSR) in the hopes that it will ease the burden of the less fortunate during this fasting month as they prepare for the coming Hari Raya Aidilfitri celebrations.
Among those present were Deputy Minister of Utility and Telecommunication (Utility) Datuk Dr Abdul Rahman Junaidi and wife Datin Siti Shorgayah Ahmad Zaidin; Deputy Minister of Urban Planning, Land Administration and Environment Datuk Len Talif Salleh; and Deputy Minister of Food Industry, Commodity and Regional Development (Commodity and Regional Development) Martin Ben. — DayakDaily
