KUCHING, May 26: The Lawas Administration Office is nearing completion and is expected to be operational by August this year.
According to TVS, Deputy Premier Datuk Amar Awang Tengah Ali Hasan said that the building will house 16 government departments and agencies and is equipped with facilities such as an elevator and a hall which can accommodate hundreds of tables.
“By bringing everything under one roof, we anticipate even greater efficiency in service delivery.
“I’ve also emphasised the need to modernise our facilities with technology—for instance, enabling online meetings and improving communication with State-level departments,” he said during a working visit to the building on Sunday (May 25).
He also expressed hope that the centralised office building, which brings various agencies under one roof, will help reduce bureaucratic red tape and streamline coordination between the Sarawak government departments and agencies.
Lawas MP Dato Henry Sum Agong, Political Secretary to the Sarawak Premier Awangku Jinal Abedin Dato Pengiran Jawa, and Limbang Division Resident Yunus Tambi were also present. — DayakDaily
