Late Dominic Andrew Dago remembered as patriot, comrade by Sarawak Governor

KUCHING, May 16: The late Datuk Amar Dominic Andrew Dago Randan has been remembered as a patriot, political comrade, and tireless champion of the Bidayuh community by Sarawak Governor Tun Pehin Sri Dr Wan Junaidi Tuanku Jaafar.

In a heartfelt tribute following the passing of the 91-year-old former leader yesterday (May 15), Tun Wan Junaidi described Datuk Amar Dominic as a close friend and fellow fighter during their time together in Parti Pesaka Bumiputera Bersatu (PBB).

“The late Datuk Amar Dominic was not only a close acquaintance of mine, but also a comrade in our shared struggles during our time serving together in Parti PBB.

“He was an active politician, a patriot, and a fighter, especially for his involvement in the formation of Malaysia in 1963 and his dedication to the development of the Bidayuh community,” he said in a statement last night (May 15).

Wan Junaidi further said Dago’s passing is deeply felt and leaves a profound impact on Sarawak, the latter’s family, the Bidayuh community, and the State as a whole.

“My wife, Toh Puan Datuk Patinggi Fauziah Mohd Sanusi, and I are deeply saddened by his passing. We extend our condolences to his wife, Datin Amar Mary Margaret Lenuh, and the family, and we pray they find strength in this time of sorrow,” he added. – DayakDaily
