Landslide at Batu 9 Bintulu-Miri Road causes 2 families to vacate their home

KUCHING, Nov 29: Two families in Mile 9 Bintulu-Miri road in Bintulu were advised to temporarily vacate their house after it was slightly damaged by a landslide today.

Bintulu Fire and Rescue (Bomba) department in a statement today, said they received the emergency call regarding the incident at 4.24 pm today and a team of three firefighters led by PBK II (KUP) Rahim Toteng were deployed to the location.

“Firefighters arriving at the location reported that the 12-foot living room wall of the single-storey house which is located about three meter from the adjacent hill was destroyed in the incident.

“After monitoring and assessing the situation the firefighters advised the two families of ten who are living together in the same house to vacate temporary until the situation recovers,” it said.

The landslide occurred at 11 pm, on Nov 27, during a heavy downpour. – DayakDaily.
