KUCHING, Aug 11: The preparation of application of transmission (AT) and memorandum of transfer-beneficiary (BT) for land ownership can now be applied at any Sarawak Land Survey Department (LANDAS) counters throughout Sarawak.
Sarawak Land and Survey Department director Abdullah Julaihi said before Aug 1, the preparation of AT and BT can only be done by certain registration sections at divisional offices such as in Samarahan and Sri Aman for land market value of less than RM10,000.
“Now, we have opened all our counters throughout Sarawak for members of the public to choose whether they want to manage the process of land transfer to beneficiaries through LANDAS or obtain legal services.
“Nevertheless, our services at our counters are far cheaper than legal services,” he said during LANDAS’ Innovation and Integrity Day closing ceremony held at Pullman Hotel here last night (Aug 11).
Abdullah further said that the LANDAS has introduced a new digital service system – ‘Electronic Preparation, Attestation and Registration System’ (ePARS) developed by the Department’s Innovation and Creative Group (KIK) from Serian named ‘Ingenuity’ led by superintendent Thian Choon Kui.
The digital system would allow LANDAS officers to apply to be given the authority on preparation, attestation and registration as well as open for lawyers registered under Advocates Association of Sarawak.
The system can be downloaded on mobile phone via Google Play or App Store.
The closing ceremony was attended by Premier of Sarawak Datuk Patinggi Tan Sri Abang Johari Tun Openg.
Amongst those present were Sarawak Secretary Datuk Amar Mohamad Abu Bakar Marzuki; Deputy Minister of Urban Planning, Land Administration and Environment Datu Len Talif Salleh; Ministry of Urban Development and Natural Resources (MUDeNR) permanent secretary Datuk Zaidi Mahdi; and Sarawak Land and Survey Department director Abdullah Julaihi. — DayakDaily
