KUCHING, Nov 2: The Landas rowing teams once again dominated the Sarawak River, clinching the coveted Raja Sungai (King of the River) title for the Sarawak Head of State (TYT) Cup and emerging champions of the Borneo International Cup (Ministry of Tourism, Creative Industry and Performing Arts [MTCP] Cup) at the Sarawak Regatta 2025 held at Kuching Waterfront today.
In the Bidar Boat 30 Men’s Paddlers (Open Category) for the TYT Cup, Landas Azam Kasihnya Warisan 3 emerged champion with a time of 7 minutes 13.63 seconds, taking home RM30,000.
In second place was Bintulu Development Authority (BDA) 10 with 7:17.90, winning RM20,000, while Bedilku Seri Putih (Adidas) came in third at 7:18.66 to earn RM10,000.

Meanwhile, in the Bidar Boat 30 Men’s Paddlers (Open category) for the Borneo International Cup/MTCP Cup, Landas 5 clinched the top spot with a time of 6 minutes 48.92 seconds, taking home RM20,000.
Their teammates, Landas 1, finished in second place at 6:50.34, earning RM15,000, while Indonesia’s Sinaran EF Adison Sambas came in third at 6:51.02, collecting RM10,000.
The prizes were presented by Sultan of Pahang, Al-Sultan Abdullah Ri’ayatuddin Al-Mustafa Billah Shah, who was accompanied by Tengku Ampuan Pahang, Tunku Azizah Aminah Maimunah Iskandariah.
At the same time, in the Kenyalang Boat 20 Men’s Paddlers VIP (Open Category) for the Premier of Sarawak Cup, the Pusaka team, under the patronage of DPRD Zulkarnain SP from Indonesia, triumphed with a time of 4 minutes 45.42 seconds to take first place.
The Landas team, led by Datuk Len Talif Salleh and Datu Abdullah Julaihi, finished second with a time of 4 minutes 53.73 seconds, while Kelisa, under the patronage of Dato Simoi Peri, secured third place at 4 minutes 54.52 seconds.
Prizes for the VIP category were presented by Sarawak’s Head of State (TYT) Tun Pehin Sri Dr Wan Junaidi Tuanku Jaafar, accompanied by his wife, Toh Puan Datuk Patinggi Fauziah Mohd Sanusi.
Among those present were the Premier of Sarawak Datuk Patinggi Tan Sri Abang Johari Tun Openg and Deputy Prime Minister Datuk Amar Fadillah Yusof. — DayakDaily
