Land expansion for affordable housing devt in Segedup, Kampung Sungai Maong to begin by mid-year

KUCHING: The land expansion to accommodate the development of 271 affordable houses in the Segedup and Kampung Sungai Maong areas is expected to start by the middle of this year, Datuk Ibrahim Baki says.

In a news report by TVS, the Satok assemblyman said land reclamation works are currently actively being carried out to facilitate works at the site while land expansion for the site is expected to be carried out by the middle of this year.

“The land expansion is likely to be completed in the middle of this year and then we will start development,” he said.

Ibrahim said this when met by the media after the Gong Xi Fa Chai donation distribution programme to students from underprivileged families at Chung Hua Middle School No.4 here, today.

Aside from that, he also revealed that the Sungai Satok embankment project will be implemented by the end of this year, at the latest.

“We will have a meeting next month with the Sarawak Department of Irrigation and Drainage, Sarawak (DID) to discuss the appropriate time to implement it because allocations have already been made,” he said.

The beautification project involves areas from Kampung Bintangor to the Satok Bridge. – DayakDaily
