KUCHING, Feb 24: The Land Custody Development Authority (LCDA) contributed RM1,782,437.05 in business zakat to the Sarawak Baitulmal Fund (TBS), reaffirming its continued commitment to community welfare.
The zakat contribution was presented by LCDA general manager Datu Zaidi Mahdi, on behalf of the LCDA Group of Companies to TBS general manager Datu Abang Mohd. Shibli Abang Mohd Nailie during the Darul Hana Iftar ceremony tonight.
The ceremony was attended by Premier of Sarawak Datuk Patinggi Tan Sri Abang Johari Tun Openg, who also presented Hari Raya contributions totalling RM25,000 to 125 recipients from 13 villages within the Darul Hana Development Project area, with each recipient receiving RM200.
Held in conjunction with LCDA’s 45th Anniversary Celebration themed “45 Years of LCDA with the Community,” the Darul Hana Iftar drew about 700 guests, including LCDA staff, community leaders, government agencies and departments, and media representatives.
The event formed part of LCDA’s annual Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) initiative aimed at easing the burden of the underprivileged during Ramadan and in preparation for Aidilfitri.
LCDA said the event highlights its ongoing efforts to promote inclusive and sustainable development in Darul Hana while safeguarding people’s well-being.
Also present were the Premier’s daughter Puan Dayang Norjihan, Deputy Premier Datuk Amar Douglas Uggah Embas; Deputy Minister for Urban Planning, Land Administration and Environment Datuk Len Talif Salleh; LCDA Holdings chairman Tan Sri Datuk Amar Dr Abdul Aziz Husain, and LCDA general manager Datu Zaidi Mahdi. — DayakDaily
