Land and Survey Dept thwarts illegal dredging, mineral extraction activity

KUCHING, Jan 12: Enforcement personnel from the Land and Survey Department thwarted an attempt to dredge and extract minerals here illegally on Jan 8.

Eight heavy machinery were confiscated in the raid, said the department in a statement today.

It added that its patrol unit detected the illegal activity, and the case is being investigated under Section 32A of the State Land Code (Chapter 81).


The public is advised to contact the nearest office of the Land and Survey Department if they want to carry out dredging and extraction of minerals.
