SIBU, May 27: It is no longer a rumour as Lanang MP, Alice Lau has finally revealed that she been tested positive for Covid-19 on May 25.
Lau revealed her current status through a Facebook post today.
She said she was currently going through quarantine at a designated Quarantine Centre by the Ministry of Health (MOH) in Sibu.
“I am feeling fine, and am in a stable condition. My son who has been in close contact with me has tested negative but will go through proper home-quarantine and will have a second swab test done in the coming days,” she said.
She pledged to take all necessary precautions including helping the Health Ministry to identify and contact those in close proximity with her for further investigation or testing if needed.
“I also would like to reassure members of the public who came into contact with me, not to panic but to also get tested and continue to take the necessary precautions to avoid the spread of the virus,” she added.
She said her Pusat Khidmat Wakil Rakyat P.211 Lanang will remain physically closed at the moment in accordance to the strict standard operating procedures in place in Sibu.
However, her assistants who have been cleared and have not been in direct contact with her will continue to service her constituents if there is a need.
She appealed to the public to give her more space to fight and recover from Covid-19, and for the public to continue to be vigilant in the fight against the virus. — DayakDaily
