SIBU, June 22: The vaccination centre (PPV) at the Sibu Islamic Welfare Trust Board (Lakis) hall will start accepting vaccine recipients tomorrow.
Sibu Disaster Management Committee coordinator Dr Annuar Rapaee said the centre’s operations will be assisted by soldiers from the 9th Brigade Infantry.
“The centre can accommodate up to 500 vaccine recipients per day but only 250 recipients are accepted. The recipients will be informed of the appointment date through WhatsApp,” he said.
However the vaccination slot needs to be secured first through https://tinyurl.com/PPVSIBU starting today after the recipients have received an SMS or phone call.
“The Covid-19 pandemic is something we have never encountered before. To fight against it, we need to be united, think outside the box and help each other. At DUN Nangka, we are also operating mobile vaccination centres at longhouses for the rural folk,” Dr Annuar said.
Meanwhile, he said those who want to contribute funds to the Lakis PPV for its operation may do so by directing funds to Persatuan Graduan Bumiputera Sibu (PGBS) Maybank account No: 5610 5123 4301.
