Kuching’s 10yo Chicha dominates Ireland opponent to reach Youth World Muay Thai semi-finals

KUCHING, Sept 15: Sarawak’s rising Muay Thai talent, Adrynna ‘Chicha’ Thanicha Seesombat, has booked her spot in the semi-finals of the IFMA Youth World Championships 2025 in Abu Dhabi after overpowering Ireland’s Eva Ines Barron.

The 10-year-old fighter from Kuching, competing in the girls’ 32kg category for ages 10 to 11, showcased her speed and accuracy to secure a unanimous 30-27 victory across all three rounds on Saturday (Sept 13), according to a report by the Sarawak Tribune.

Displaying maturity beyond her age, the Rentap Muay Thai Gym prodigy dictated the pace from the opening bell and never allowed her opponent room to recover.

Chicha will now take on Portugal in the semi-final clash scheduled for Wednesday (Sept 17).

Malaysia has sent a 21-strong team to the global championship, with participants competing in wai kru, mai muay, and multiple youth divisions.

More than 100 countries are represented at the prestigious tournament on Yas Island, with Malaysia’s young fighters determined to make their mark on the world stage. — DayakDaily
