KUCHING, Nov 30: The Kuching Water Board (KWB) has announced long-term plans to address the issue of low water pressure in Kampung Sungai Mata, Kampung Tanjung Parang, Kampung Mang, Kampung Melayu, and surrounding areas.

KBW stated in a press release that it intends to build two 4.5ML High Level Tanks (HLT) in Samarindah and to upgrade Plant No 4 Batu Kitang from 100JLH to 200JLH. KWB will also construct the main channel from Batu 7 to Samajaya Customs/Kota Samarahan.

“KWB would like to inform that the work of detecting low water pressure experienced by residents in Kpg Sg Mata, Kpg Tanjung Parang, Kpg Mang, Kpg Melayu, and surrounding areas has been actively carried out since the last two weeks.

“Meanwhile, KWB also carried out repair works on pipe leaks that caused low water pressure in the area.

“The time period for the restoration of water supply to users is different from one area to another depending on the location and distance of the user’s premises,” read the press release.

It went on to say that KWB will continue to supply water through the delivery of tankers to ensure the continued supply of treated water to consumers.

“KWB apologises for any inconvenience caused and greatly appreciates the patience and cooperation given by users.

“Please contact the KWB Call Center at 082-222333 for any complaints and inquiries,” KWB remarked. — DayakDaily
