KUCHING, March 27: The Kuching Water Board (KWB) will postpone repair works on a leaking 800mm ductile iron pipe at Jalan Premat here until after the Hari Raya celebration to avoid water supply disruptions during the festive season.
According to a KWB notice issued today, the leak—located near the Pending Post Office at the road median—has caused minor water ponding.
While the situation is currently under control, KWB said the decision to delay the repair was made to prevent disruptions to high water demand in key areas including Darul Hana, Petra Jaya, Demak Laut, and Bako.
In the meantime, KWB will continue to monitor the leak and implement safety measures to ensure road users and nearby residents are not affected.
