Kuching storeroom wall collapse: Public urged to refrain from speculation, sharing victim’s photos

KUCHING, Feb 24: The public has been urged not to speculate or share photos of the man who tragically died in a wall collapse incident at Jalan Tan Sri Ong Kee Hui here today.

In a media statement issued today, Kuching district police chief Mohd Farhan Lee Abdullah said that a sudden death report (SDR) has been opened and that investigations are underway.

“The body has been sent to the Sarawak General Hospital’s (SGH) forensics department for an autopsy.

“The public is reminded to not speculate about the incident or share pictures of the victim at the scene for the sake of the family,” he said.

At 10.08am this morning, a man was found dead while carrying out demolition work on the storeroom behind his house.

According to a report from the Fire and Rescue Department, the wall had given way, causing the entire structure to collapse and killing the victim, identified as David Chin Zek Hong, a 27-year-old local man. — DayakDaily
