Kuching Urban Transportation System highlighted at Shanghai urban mass transit conference

KUCHING, June 10: The Kuching Urban Transportation System (KUTS) project gained the international spotlight at China International Railway Conference for Intercity & Urban Mass Transit (CIRC) Conference 2024.

According to Sarawak Metro Sdn Bhd (Sarawak Metro) in a statement today, the project was highlighted by Sarawak Metro chief executive officer Ts Mazli Mustaffa during his keynote address titled “Sarawak Metro—Transforming Public Transport in the Malaysian city of Kuching”.

He was among several speakers from Southeast Asia and Europe, some of whom represented organisations in charge of public transport systems operations and maintenance and also transport authorities, who were invited to share their insights at CIRC 2024, which took place in Shanghai on June 4–6.

During his presentation, Mazli touched on Sarawak Metro’s efforts in adopting a new form of public transportation which is also leading the way in implementing a zero emissions solution that is in line with Sarawak’s green hydrogen agenda.

Visit to the Shanghai Engineering Research Centre for Driverless Train Control and Railway Intelligent Dispatching Command System, as part of CIRC 2024.

Meanwhile, during the three-day event, Sarawak Metro was also invited to visit the Shanghai Engineering Research Centre for Driverless Train Control and Railway Intelligent Dispatching Command System.

The visit provided an invaluable opportunity to learn about the latest technologies and advancements in urban transit, aligning with Sarawak Metro’s commitment towards innovation and excellence in public transportation. — DayakDaily
