Kuching Toastmasters elects new executive committee for 2021-2022

KUCHING, July 13: The Kuching Toastmasters Club (KTMC) has elected a new executive committee for the 2021-2022 term.

The new executive committee consisted of Hubert Poh as president, Jason Mok as vice president (education), Wee Pei Chai as vice president (membership), and Mike Lim as vice president (public relations).

Chester Bong is the new secretary while Emma Ting, the treasurer and Chok Sze Jin,  sergeant-at-arms with Wee Hun Been and Sahil Singh Dev as committee members.

KTMC in a press statement said the club was recently awarded the prestigious Distinguished Club Honours by the Toastmasters International headquarters based in Colorado, USA.

The award was in recognition of the club’s achievements in the areas of educational initiatives and training activities, membership expansion and efficient administration.

In spite of the Covid-19 pandemic, KTMC said the club continues with its bimonthly training meetings and education programmes online while at the same time, embarking on outreach programmes to schools and institutions of higher learning.

Meanwhile, KTMC said the club’s membership has grown by 25 more members and will continue to grow, a credit to its efficient and hardworking executive committee.
