KUCHING, Oct 14: Kuching, Serian and Samarahan are among 10 districts in Sarawak issued with thunderstorm alerts today.
Malaysian Meteorological Department (MetMalaysia) in an advisory notice issued at 12pm, said other affected districts are Betong, Mukah, Tanjung Manis, Miri, Subis, Limbang and Lawas.

According to the department, adverse weather conditions include heavy rain and strong winds. The notice is in effect until 3pm.
A warning is issued when there are signs of a thunderstorm with a rain intensity greater than 20mm/hour approaching or expected to last for more than an hour.
“A thunderstorm warning is a short-term warning that is valid for a maximum of six hours per issuance,” the department said. — DayakDaily
