Kuching safety in focus as MBKS, police reinforce collaborative efforts

KUCHING, May 25: The Kuching South City Council (MBKS) received a courtesy visit from the Kuching district police chief, ACP Alexson Naga Chabu, who was accompanied by senior police officers on Friday (May 23).

According to a media release, the meeting served as a platform to discuss strategies to enhance cooperation between MBKS and the police force in ensuring the safety and well-being of the people of Kuching.

Among the key topics discussed were community policing, crime prevention initiatives, and joint efforts to promote Kuching as a safe and liveable city.

During the visit, MBKS Mayor Dato Wee Hong Seng expressed his appreciation to the police force for their continued dedication and tireless efforts in maintaining peace and public order across the city.

He commended the police for their responsiveness and professionalism in addressing community safety concerns.

“We are thankful to ACP Alexson and his team for their commitment and ongoing support. MBKS fully supports the efforts of the Royal Malaysia Police and looks forward to even closer collaboration in future initiatives and programmes that prioritise the safety of our residents,” he said.

Wee added that MBKS also welcomes future collaborations to strengthen safety initiatives across the city.

This visit marks a continued partnership between MBKS and the police, reaffirming a shared commitment to building a safe, resilient, and inclusive Kuching for all.
