Kuching reverts to yellow zone, Sarawak reports zero Covid-19 cases

KUCHING, Nov 27: Kuching today reverted to Covid-19 yellow zone status while no new positive cases were reported in Sarawak today while
Lawas reverted to green zone after recording zero local transmission cases for the past 14 days.

Sarawak Disaster Management Committee (SDMC) said with that, the cumulative number of Covid-19 cases in the state remains at 1,062 as of today.

No new clusters were reported in the state today while six clusters remain active, namely the Besi Cluster (12 cases), Abell Cluster (15 cases), Baki Cluster (33 cases), Seladah Cluster (nine cases), Greenhill Cluster (91 cases) and Wisma Saberkas Cluster (44 cases).

SDMC also revealed three recoveries had been discharged from hospitals today, thus increasing the recovery rate to 95.86 per cent of total Covid-19 cases in Sarawak.

“Today, there is 17 new person-under-investigation (PUI) cases and one case awaiting laboratory test results,” it added in the Covid-19 statement today.

It added that 306 person-under-surveillance (PUS) were registered into various hotels across Sarawak to be quarantined bringing to a total of 3,680 individuals currently under quarantine in 34 hotels throughout Sarawak while 33,965 PUS had completed their 14-day quarantine.

Meanwhile, the committee said 959 residents in Kampung Banting, Lawas underwent Covid-19 swab tests following the detection of a local transmission case in the district on Nov 13.

All 959 of the test results came back negative on Nov 21. — DayakDaily
