KUCHING, Aug 4: A man from Kuching was killed in an accident after he crashed into a roadside culvert near Kampung Tanam, Jalan Oya–Dalat, today.
In a report from the Fire and Rescue Department (Bomba), a call was received at 3.37am, and firefighters from the Mukah station were deployed.
Upon arrival, it was reported that the victim was thrown out of his vehicle, a Toyota Rush, following the crash and was pronounced dead by paramedics at the scene.
The victim, identified as Chung Marn Cherk, was later brought to Mukah Hospital by the police.
Meanwhile, firefighters proceeded to disconnect the battery of the vehicle and sprayed water on the dashboard area, as it was found to be emitting smoke.
After ensuring that the situation at the scene was safe, the team returned to the station. — DayakDaily
