Kuching journalists’ association receives RM10,000 donation from Deputy Premier Dr Sim

KUCHING, Jan 21: Kuching Division Journalists Association (KDJA) received a donation of RM10,000, from Deputy Premier of Sarawak Datuk Amar Dr Sim Kui Hian today.

Dr Sim presented the donation to KDJA president Ronnie Teo at a simple presentation ceremony held at the Sarawak United People’s Party (SUPP) headquarters here.

In a statement, Teo expressed his appreciation for Dr Sim’s support of KDJA and revealed the money would go towards the association’s activities for this year.


These include the Mount Kinabalu Summit hiking expedition, a media familiarisation trip, a media reunion dinner, Hari Wartawan Nasional (Hawana), workshops, and more.

“We wish to express our utmost gratitude to Dr Sim for his continuous support for the media fraternity in Kuching.

“The donations today will be used to fund KDJA’s activities in 2024, specifically for our upcoming Annual CNY Media Dinner 2024, whereby Dr Sim has been invited as the guest-of-honour.

“We look forward to giving back to our media colleagues with events such as this, thanks in part to continuous support from Dr Sim,” said Teo.
