Kuching hits API 164 as haze puts nine Sarawak areas in unhealthy range as of 12pm (Aug 15)

KUCHING, Aug 15: KUCHING, Aug 15: Kuching recorded the highest Air Pollution Index (API) reading in Sarawak at 164 as of 12pm today, which was categorised as unhealthy.

According to the Air Pollutant Index Management System (APIMS), Samarahan recorded the second-highest reading at 161, followed by Serian at 160.

Six other areas also recorded unhealthy API readings, namely Bintulu (157), Sarikei (156), Sri Aman (153), Sibu (152), Mukah (151), and Samalaju (115).

Meanwhile, four areas recorded moderate readings: Miri (92), ILP Miri (76), Kapit (65), and Limbang (58).

Overall, nine areas in Sarawak recorded unhealthy API readings, while four recorded moderate readings.

Members of the public are advised to monitor air quality updates and limit prolonged outdoor activities if conditions deteriorate. — DayakDaily
