Kuching continues to take up one-third of Covid-19 caseloads

KUCHING, Nov 13: Kuching alone has taken up almost one-third of the total number of new Covid-19 cases in Sarawak today, with a record of 120 out of 399.

According to reports by State Disaster Management Committee (SDMC), Kuching remained the only district with a three-digit figure while caseloads of other districts have dropped below 100 in recent weeks.


Those that registered double-digit case numbers today were Miri (70), Sibu (30), Bintulu (23), Lawas (23), Limbang (19), Serian (15), Lundu (12), and Mukah (11).

Other districts with new infections included Samarahan (nine cases), Betong, Saratok, Dalat (seven cases each), Subis (5 cases), Sri Aman, Sarikei (four cases each), Bau (three cases), Marudi, Bukit Mabong, Matu (two cases each), Kapit, Meradong, Tebedu, Kabong, Kanowit, Selangau, Beluru, and Telang Usan (one case each).

In terms of clinical categories, 392 cases were in the mild Categories 1 and 2 while the other seven were in the more serious Categories 3, 4 and 5.

Further breaking it down, there were 113 in Category 1, 279 in Category 2, one in Category 3, five in Category 4, and one in Category 5.

The cumulative number of Covid-19 cases in the State have thus risen to 247,081 as of this day.

Meanwhile, two clusters namely Kampung Lintang Baru Cluster in Serian and Kampung Segedup Cluster in Kuching expired after recording no new cases for 28 consecutive days.

No new clusters have emerged and the remaining 13 active clusters continue to register zero related cases. — DayakDaily
