KUCHING, May 7: Police have arrested a 23-year-old local man at Jalan Sultan Tengah and are on the lookout for five more suspects in relation to a brawl that happened at a vehicle workshop at Kubah Ria at 1am on May 6, 2024.
In a media statement released today, Kuching district police chief ACP Ahsmon Bajah said the suspect has two records related to drugs and violent crimes.
He said that the incident stemmed from a misunderstanding when the suspect was accused of stealing a tire rim from the workshop.
“The case will be investigated under Section 148 of the Penal Code, which provides for a maximum jail term of five years or a fine or both upon conviction,” he said.
As for the remaining five suspects still on the loose, he urged the public to come forward if they have any information on the incident by contacting IPD Kuching at 082-244444 or going to their nearest police station. — DayakDaily
