KUCHING, May 1: Kampung Tabuan Kuching has been placed under Active Case Detection (ACD) to curb the spread of Covid-19 pandemic.

This is revealed by Sarawak Disaster Management Committee (SDMC) in its daily statement to update Covid-19 situation in Sarawak today.

Kampung Tabuan Kuching is the third housing estate which is placed under ACD following Taman Uni Garden and Taman Desa Ilmu in Kota Samarahan which were announced to be areas under ACD four days ago.

Any area placed under ACD would be placed under Enhanced Movement Control Order (EMCO).

Prior to this, chairman of SDMC Datuk Amar Douglas Uggah Embas said residents under ACD could still shop for essential supplies within the ACD areas.

Uggah emphasised that the ACD and restriction of movement is necessary to minimise the number of people coming in and out of these areas.

The ACD operation at Taman Uni Garden and Taman Desa Ilmu in Kota Samarahan was carried out from April 27 and last until yesterday (April 30).— DayakDaily
