KABONG, Jan 6: Kampung Simpang Empat Kabong has been declared a new dengue outbreak area following the confirmation of two cases in the past 14 days.

Local news portal Suara Sarawak reported that the Dengue Outbreak Committee convened to discuss the necessary actions, with the meeting chaired by Kabong District Officer, Tahir Mohd Share, at his office recently.

He recommended that the Saratok District Council (MDS) assist local residents in organising a community cleanup (gotong-royong) immediately.

During the meeting, proposed actions to control the dengue outbreak included destroying Aedes mosquito breeding sites and advising residents showing dengue symptoms to seek treatment promptly.

Additionally, there were calls for residents to open their doors during the fogging process to effectively eliminate Aedes mosquitoes. – DayakDaily
