KPDNHEP conduct walkabout on SHMKM implementation in Sibu supermarket

KUCHING, Dec 10: Ministry of Domestic Trade and Consumer Affairs (KPDNHEP) Sibu branch Deputy Secretary General TKSU (PUP) Datin Rozanina Abdul Wahab lead the ministry’s walkabout to survey the implementation of the ‘Malaysian Family Maximum Price Scheme’ (SHMKM) in Farley supermarket in Sibu.

According to KPDNHEP in a statement today, during the recent walkabout, it was found out that all 12 controlled items were sold between RM0.10 to RM0.40, below the maximum level that has been set.

She was satisfied with the compliance of the traders involved and expressed her appreciation to Farley’s management who were also present for the support given.


Apart from that, it was also found that vegetables that are not included in the control list are sold at reasonable prices and the pricing and standard operating procedures (SOPs) are also adhered to.

Some of the customers when met during the walkabout expressed their gratitude for the adequate supply and reasonable prices offered at the supermarket.
