KUCHING, Sept 22: Kota Sentosa assemblyman Wilfred Yap Yau Sin secured RM140,000 worth of Rural Transformation Project (RTP) funds to upgrade three recreation parks in the constituency.
In a statement today, Yap said the residents in the respective area requested to upgrade the parks.
“The sum of RM50,000 was approved for Green Heights Recreation Park, RM50,000 for Borneo Garden Park, and another RM40,000 for Lorong Stampin Tengah 12 Recreation Park.
“Kuching City South Council (MBKS) has been appointed as the implementing agency to carry out and complete the upgrading works,” he said.
Yap said he has also requested MBKS to speed up the design using quality materials for upgrading works for the parks to ensure it can be delivered on schedule.
He also assures his commitment to improving the standard of living and quality of life of the communities living in N12 Kota Sentosa and will continue to fight for more funding for the upgrading of other recreation parks in the N12 Kota Sentosa constituency.
“Apart from providing a conducive venue for residents to congregate, it will also provide active recreation opportunities for all ages, including creating valuable green spaces and contributing to the wellness of the local community as well as improving property values,” he added. — DayakDaily
