KUCHING, May 19: Kota Sentosa assemblyman Wilfred Yap says he has been able to secure funding to resolve his constituents’ issues since he was elected while the Sarawak Democratic Action Party (DAP) is busy playing the blame game.
Instead of taking action to help the people, he chided Sarawak DAP special assistants for roaming around his constituency and pointing fingers at him on petty issues.
Yap said he is in fact working hard to fix issues left behind by former three-term Kota Sentosa assemblyman Chong Chieng Jen, who is also Sarawak DAP chairman.
“If you look at N12 Kota Sentosa, since I won in that particular seat, we have been able to secure funding to systematically resolve the problems. We are not (just) talking about it.
“And every time when we come up to the press, we have already secured the funding to resolve those problems. That is the difference between GPS (Gabungan Parti Sarawak) and DAP.
“DAP likes to talk about problems. He (Chong) talks about Happy Valley’s flooding issues, but how long has the issue been there? One year or 10 years,” said Yap at a press conference on the sideline of the Sarawak Legislative Assembly (DUN) sitting today.
Continuing on, Yap assured that he would try to resolve the numerous problems in his constituency because that is his commitment to the people. — DayakDaily
