KUCHING, March 22: An additional 30 parking spaces will be constructed near Faith Methodist Church at Jalan Hup Kee here, thanks to Kota Sentosa assemblyman Wilfred Yap.

The elected representative has allocated RM100,000 under his Rural Transformation Programme (RTP) funding for the construction of the new carpark outside the Church’s perimeter fencing.

Kuching South City Council (MBKS) is the appointed implementing agency for the project.

In a statement issued today, Yap said he had a meeting earlier with MBKS officers at his service centre to brief and finalise the bill of quantities and scope of works for the project.

“The church elders had earlier requested me for funding assistance as the existing car parks of the church could not cater for the increasing number of their congregation,” he said.

He further called on his constituents to continue to support the inclusive policies of the current Gabungan Parti Sarawak (GPS) government to ensure political stability, which is crucial for economic expansion, social progress and overall improvement in the quality of life.

“This is because the unity amongst our people is crucial to position Sarawak as an attractive destination for foreign investments and for sustainable overall holistic economic development where every anak Sarawak will be able to enjoy the benefits,” he added. — DayakDaily
