KUCHING, March 25: Kota Sentosa assemblyman Wilfred Yap recently contributed new facilities totalling RM33,000 to the health clinic in his constituency.
According to a press release, Yap handed over six units of industrial air coolers with humidifying functions totalling RM18,000, including supply, delivery, and installation.
These are to replace the existing air conditioners in the waiting area and consultation room, which are not functioning properly.
Additionally, Yap agreed to assist the clinic in setting up a triage counter, which is estimated to cost RM15,000 as it requires a counter table, computer, ergonomic chair, TV set, loudspeakers, and a microphone.
During a briefing session with the clinic’s panel of advisers, Yap was told that the triage counter was necessary to improve patient management, reduce wait times, and ensure timely medical attention for individuals based on their medical conditions.
This is because, without an efficient triage process, non-urgent cases may overwhelm the system and cause delays in giving care to those who need immediate attention.
Meanwhile, Yap reiterated his commitment to using his minor rural project (MRP) fund allocations from the Sarawak government to invest in quality facilities development to improve health service utilisation, patient outcomes, and quality of services for the benefit of his constituents. — DayakDaily
