KJ visits PPV at Petra Jaya Stadium Perpaduan, chats with elderly waiting in line for Covid-19 jabs

KUCHING, May 28: National Covid-19 Immunisation Programme (Pick) Coordinating Minister Khairy Jamaluddin or commonly known as KJ, paid a visit to the vaccination centre (PPV) located at Stadium Perpaduan in Petra Jaya here today.

Also in attendance to accompany him were Deputy Chief Minister Datuk Amar Douglas Uggah Embas and State Local Government and Housing Minister Dato Sri Dr Sim Kui Hian.

During the visit, Khairy inspected the procedures at the PPV from the registration counters, inoculation process and the discharge station.

He also took the opportunity to talk to some of the elderly waiting in line for their turn to receive the Covid-19 vaccine jabs.

A total of 812 people are expected to turn up at the PPV today for their second dose of Covid-19 jab.

As of noon, 559 had completed their second dose of vaccination.

KJ, who is also the Science, Technology and Innovation Minister, had arrived here yesterday for a two-day working visit.

He is scheduled to pay a courtesy visit to Chief Minister Datuk Patinggi Abang Johari Tun Openg at Wisma Bapa Malaysia here at 3pm and attend a meeting with the national and State’s Covid-19 Immunisation Task Force (CITF) at the same venue 30 minutes later.

He is also expected to hold a virtual press conference at 4.30pm to address his work visit to Kuching. — DayakDaily
