KUCHING, May 25: Vaccinators must show the Covid-19 vaccine recipients the syringe that has been filled to the required amount of dosage before they can jab the person, said Khairy Jamaluddin.

The National Covid-19 Immunisation Programme (PICK) Coordinating Minister said such measures was introduced by the federal government as a new standard operating procedure (SOP) for National Covid-19 Immunisation Programme (PICK).

He noted that the SOP was issued with immediate effect amidst investigation into cases involving certain vaccine recipients allegedly claiming that they had received lower vaccine dosages.

Certain videos have went viral showing such incidents have taken place. The authenticity of such videos have yet to be verified.

“What we have done is that we have issued (the SOP) with immediate effect after the incident by identifying the new SOPs whereby the vaccinators will have to show the person being vaccinated, the syringe that has been filled to the required quantity of the vaccine.

“And after the vaccine receiver is happy with the terms, only then can they (vaccinators) vaccinate the person,” he said in a virtual press conference via Zoom Meeting today. — DayakDaily
