King and Queen arrive in Kuching for two-day visit

KUCHING, April 21: Yang di-Pertuan Agong Al-Sultan Abdullah Ri’ayatuddin Al-Mustafa Billah Shah and Raja Permaisuri Agong Tunku Azizah Aminah Maimunah Iskandariah arrived safely at Kuching International Airport (KIA) here today for a two-day visit to Sarawak.

According to a news report by Sarawak Public Communications Unit (Ukas), the special aircraft carrying the royal couple landed at 12.05pm.

Their Majesties were warmly welcomed by the Yang Di-Pertua Negeri Sarawak Tun Pehin Sri Abdul Taib Mahmud and his wife Toh Puan Datuk Patinggi Raghad Kurdi Taib.


Also present to welcome the royal couple were the Premier of Sarawak Datuk Patinggi Tan Sri Abang Johari Tun Openg and his wife Puan Sri Datuk Amar Jumaa’ni Tun Tuanku Bujang.

The King and Queen arrive in KIA for a two-day visit to Sarawak.

Sarawak State Assembly Speaker Tan Sri Mohamad Asfia Awang Nassar, the three Deputy Premiers – Datuk Amar Douglas Uggah Embas, Datuk Amar Awang Tengah Ali Hasan and Dato Sri Dr Sim Kui Hian as well as Sarawak State Secretary Datuk Amar Jaul Samion were also present.

Today, Their Majesties are expected to visit the Satok Ramadan Bazaar here before attending Iftar ceremony (breaking of fast) followed by a dinner at the State Jamek Mosque here, where they will present contributions to 30 recipients. — DayakDaily
