KUCHING, Dec 7: Kho Teck Wan will continue to helm the Sarawak United Peoples’ Party’s (SUPP) women’s wing as its chief for the term 2025 to 2027.
In a TVS news report yesterday (Dec 6), Kho said for this term, unity is the main pillar in the basic agenda towards efforts to strengthen unity among the people in Sarawak.
She said every SUPP member needs to work together to ensure unity within the community with an emphasis on integration among the various races and religions through good communication in fostering, strengthening and preserving unity.
“We emphasise unity because if we are not united in our party, we won’t be able to face challenges.
“We want everyone to work together, especially with the upcoming election,” she said during the SUPP Central Women Section Triennial Delegates Conference yesterday.
She added that 15 new faces have been appointed to replace the female leaders in the party.
“We have 36 women’s divisions in Sarawak and out of them, from the last term, we have 15 chairwomen who retired.
“So I congratulate the new chairwomen because they are younger and this is a good process that we have new ones replacing those who have retired,” she explained.
A total of 264 members were present to participate in the conference which saw three resolutions approved.
Among them, the number of delegates for each representative was increased from 100 to 150 for each area where there is a women’s branch and also approved guidelines for steps to implement the election of representatives at the divisional level. — DayakDaily
