“This is the exclusive opportunity for the Sarawak public to come and witness live for themselves Sarawak’s media sector awards for the very first time in the history of KJA,” said the association after a cheque presentation ceremony at Premier Datuk Patinggi Tan Sri Abang Johari Tun Openg’s office at Wisma Bapa Malaysia today.

This year, the Sarawak government continues to be a Platinum Sponsor of KJA 2024 with RM100,000 sponsorship for the Premier Award title and Digital Economy category.

PETRONAS, Sarawak Energy, and Shell Malaysia continue to become KJA’s Gold Sponsors, pledging RM50,000 each to sponsor the Community Well-being Journalism Award, Sustainability Journalism Award, and Business and Economy Reporting Award, respectively.

This year, KDJA also announced two new Gold Sponsors: Press Metal, who will sponsor the News Reporting Award category, and Yayasan Peneraju, who will sponsor the Broadcasting Journalism Award category.

Additional corporate sponsors include Affin Bank, SEDC Energy, Citadel, and SOCOE.

“We thank these sponsors for their unwavering support and generous contributions to the Kenyalang Journalism Awards.

“Their commitment to fostering excellence in Sarawak’s journalism industry has played a pivotal role in elevating the standards and integrity of the media landscape in Sarawak,” said KDJA president Ronnie Teo in the statement.
