KUCHING, May 30: A 32-year-old man was killed in an accident that occurred across the Yong Bridge at Nanga Belawai, Kapit, on Thursday (May 29).
According to a report from the Fire and Rescue Department (Bomba), an emergency call was received at 6.57pm, and firefighters from the Kapit station were deployed.
It was noted that firefighters faced challenges reaching the scene, as it was located across the river and required them to travel by boat.
Upon firefighters’ arrival, it was discovered that the accident involved a motorcycle that was found in a ditch, and its rider, identified as Benedict Diso, was found unconscious.
After the victim was retrieved, he was handed over to Health Ministry officers, who pronounced him dead at the scene. — DayakDaily
