Kampung Menek, Kampung Lutong JKKKs initiate patrols, roadblocks to curb Covid-19

SEBUYAU, June 9: The communities of Kampung Menek and Kampung Lutong have come together to initiate patrols and conduct roadblocks leading to the villages as well as Sebangan town to protect the area from becoming another Covid-19 hotspot.

The Village Development and Security Committees (JKKKs) of Kampung Menek and Kampung Lutong have started the initiatives to curb the spread of Covid-19 in the villages and at the same time ensure that people comply with the standard operating procedures (SOP).

According to a news report by Sarawak Public Communications Unit (UKAS), patrols have been carried out involving Sebangan town, village areas and public places.

Throughout the patrol operation, it was observed that there was high compliance with the SOPs among the people.

Residents were also supportive and heeded the calls of the State government in adhering to the SOPs by only going out for essentials. — DayakDaily
