KUCHING, July 12: Julau MP Datuk Larry Sng urges the government to consolidate all the lottery companies in Malaysia into just one or at most two.

He said it has been his long-term opinion that there are too many lottery companies in the country.

“These companies have made billions over the years from the sweat and blood of poor Malaysians.

“The government needs to address this problem,” he said in a statement yesterday (July 11).

Meanwhile, Sng applauded Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim’s move to eradicate illegal gambling and prostitution in Malaysia while hoping that the Ministry of Home Affairs would follow through with this matter.

Sng said Sarawak has a big problem when it comes to online gambling, and it affects the people negatively.

“Everyone knows about this, including the politicians, but no one dares to speak up because the gangsters are involved.

“Keeping silent in the long run will wreak the State. Hopefully, something needs to be done immediately,” he added. — DayakDaily
