JPJ Sarawak seizes bus in Kuching enforcement operation over serious traffic offences

KUCHING, Dec 19: The Sarawak Road Transport Department (JPJ) has seized a bus during a routine enforcement operation conducted by the JPJ Kuching operations unit around the city yesterday (Dec 18).

According to JPJ Sarawak, the bus was found to have committed several serious offences, including operating as a public service vehicle without a valid licence or permit, having an expired road tax, and lacking valid insurance coverage.

“The impoundment action was carried out immediately to ensure that vehicles which do not comply with regulations do not continue to endanger road users.

“JPJ Sarawak advises all public service vehicle operators to consistently comply with legal requirements, including holding valid licences and permits, renewing road tax, and ensuring adequate insurance coverage,” said in a statement as reported by TVS.

JPJ Sarawak stressed that it will continue enforcement efforts to enhance road safety and ensure that only compliant vehicles are allowed on the roads. — DayakDaily
