In supporting the cause, Welfare, Community Wellbeing, Women, Family and Childhood Development Minister, Datuk Seri Fatimah Abdullah, said in order to provide support and promote breast awareness to the community in Sarawak, the group has been organising numerous health screenings, talks and motivational activities.
“The number one cancer that kills women is breast cancer, while cervical cancer is the number two most common cancer that kills women.
“Therefore it was vital to create greater public awareness on the importance of early diagnosis of breast cancer made possible by the advancement of medical science,” she told a press conference here today.
She added that if there is early examination and given early treatment, lives can be saved. — DayakDaily
