He said, Johor has a lot in common with the two states including its tourism products offering tourism destinations with elements of nature.

“Johor has spent about RM115 million throughout the years 2024 and 2025 for the tourism sector to improve all tourism products in the state.

“At the same time, we also want to learn from our neighbouring states of Melaka and Sarawak on how they can ensure their respective states develop their tourism sector so rapidly,” he said.

He said this while speaking at the Opening Ceremony of The Asean Travel Exchange (TRAVEX) 2025 earlier today.

Also present was the Minister of Tourism, Arts and Culture Datuk Seri Tiong King Sing.

Onn Hafiz also stated that the organisation of TRAVEX 2025 demonstrates the spirit of Asean unity in promoting the region as a global tourism attraction.

“In Johor, we have a unique advantage as a bridge between Malaysia and neighboring countries such as Singapore.

“This strategic position allows us to highlight not only the beauty of Johor but also the collective strength of Asean as a global tourism powerhouse,” he added.

More than 1,000 delegates from home and abroad, especially in the Asean region, attended this event, while more than 200 booths were opened to promote the attractive destination to visitors.
