SIBU, Aug 28: A jobless man has been arrested for allegedly involving in drug activities yesterday at Lorong Upper Lanang 12C here.
The police had also seized from him 116 grammes of methamphetamine drug, cash amounting to RM57,427 and a four-wheel-drive (4WD) vehicle worth RM50,000.
All items seized totalled RM107,427.
Sibu district police chief, ACP Stanley Jonathan Ringgit said at about 6.15 pm yesterday, a police anti-narcotic team stopped a 4WD vehicle at Lorong Upper Lanang 12C for acting suspiciously.
“Following an inspection on the suspect, the team found methamphetamine weighing 116 grammes which was placed inside a transparent plastic bag, a weighing machine and RM57,427 in various denominations,” he added.
Stanley said the suspect has a previous record for drug activities.
He said the suspect had been detained for investigation under Section 39B of the Dangerous Drugs Act 1952. -DayakDaily
