Jobless man jailed four months for threatening to kill police officer

KUCHING, Jan 26: The Magistrates Court here sentenced a jobless man to four months’ imprisonment for threatening to kill a police officer.

Syaifuddin Ti Morni, 38, pleaded guilty to the charge framed before Magistrate Zaiton Anuar.

She sentenced him to four months’ imprisonment, with effect from the date of arrest, December 12, last year.

Syaifuddin was charged with criminal intimidation towards a police officer at Padawan Narcotics Crime Investigation Department (NCID), at about 3.55am on December 12, 2022.

According to the brief facts of the case, on the day of the incident, the accused was arrested by the police for involvement in a narcotics crime, where he had committed criminal intimidation by saying ‘kamek keluar tok kamek akan bunuh sidak polis tok semua demi Allah kamek akan bunuh’ (when I get out, I will kill you police, by God, I will kill) to the police officer.

His words were also heard by a team of police at NCID Padawan.

Prosecuting Officer Inspector Merylene Lindan Andrew Mang prosecuted while the accused was unrepresented by counsel. — DayakDaily
