KUCHING, Nov 14: A 28-year-old unemployed man claimed trial at the Sessions Court here to a charge of raping his underage stepdaughter.
The accused pleaded not guilty before judge Marutin Pagan, who fixed Dec 16 for further mention.
The judge also denied bail to the accused, who will be further detained in prison pending the trial date.
The accused had allegedly committed incest against his 14-year-old stepdaughter at a house between 8am and 9am, on Nov 6, 2019.
He was charged under Section 376B(1) of the Penal Code that provides a jail term between 10 and 30 years, and whipping, upon conviction.
DPP Nadratun Naim Mohd Saidi prosecuted while the accused is unrepresented. — DayakDaily
