KUCHING, June 17: Sarawak United Peoples’ Party (SUPP) Public Complaint Bureau (PCB) chief Milton Foo urges the Public Works Department (JKR) and relevant contractor to expedite repair works for the stretch of road along Jalan Stutong next to SJK Chung Hua No. 2.
In a statement today, Foo said that SUPP PCB had received complaints from parents regarding the stagnant water and bad condition of the roadside next to the school.
He said such dilapidated road conditions had been left unattended since October 2022.
“Great inconvenience has been caused to the parents and students during heavy pours or after it rains, especially during pick-up hours,” he said.
Foo said the stagnant water in the road pits has also caused inconvenience to the students as they try to jump over it, causing their school shoes to get wet.
“It also poses a danger to road users. I have also brought up the matter to the attention of JKR Sarawak last week for their immediate action,” he added. — DayakDaily
